As part of creating the right learning experience, Kingsmore believes that students make faster progress if they are learning in small groups. That’s why at our centre in Bournemouth, UK, we never have class sizes of more than six students. The policy of small class sizes enables our teachers to deliver a high degree of personalised support and to adapt course content, pace of lessons and material to the requirements of students.

Independent research clearly supports the benefits of learning in small student groups. Concerns about class sizes have formed an important feature of educational debate in the UK in secondary and primary education. However, this does not seem to have been reflected in the TEFL sector.

That’s why we are one of the few – if not the only – language learning centres in the UK providing 24-hour access for all of its students. Through the use of modern chip-based contactless security cards, we can enable our students to access our multimedia facilities at any time to suit their need. As this is part of an integrated security system with CCTV, there is minimal risk to either students or ourselves.

A 24-hour learning facility of this nature is an important benefit for our professional and business students who may need to contact customers or businesses located in different time zones. An interesting case was that of a medical consultant who needed to review copies of X-ray scans sent to him during the night by a hospital in his home country. A modern learning environment gives students peace of mind if they can stay in contact easily.

Benefits such as Wi-Fi networks and Skype telephony are important – particularly for the professionals who often bring laptop PCs and can access their own company networks through our system. Managed by graduates with extensive business and management experience Kingsmore International aims to apply quality management practice techniques commonly found in the business sector. Graduate teachers

A key factor for us in achieving high levels of student satisfaction is our insistence in only employing experienced graduate teachers with appropriate qualifications in teaching English as a foreign language. Cultural and social programmes
